…was had by all at Copenhagen Jazzhouse Sat. Nov. 7!! Encouraging to arrive at sound check and discover half the tickets were sold in advance… Even more encouraging to see the line of people showing up early to get the best seats… And a warm, wonderful surprise to come onstage and discover a packed house!

It just continued to get better and better from there… bathed in appreciation upon introduction, enthusiastic reaction after the first tune, thunderous applause after each solo and tune played…

Pre-concert, I always spend as little energy and thought as possible on whether or not anybody’s actually going to show up – you just never know these days… So many choices for entertainment and so many ways people can spend their hard-earned cash and precious time… It’s best for me to just keep my nose to the grindstone, practice and prepare, and do everything I can to make sure whoever does show up is going to be blown away by what they hear.

The combination of a great venue, a group of musicians putting their hearts and souls into each note, and a capacity audience ready, willing and able to come along for the ride… is magic – and that’s exactly what happened Saturday night. Yesterday I was too spent and reeling from the music buzz to reflect – huge thanks to Peter Lund from PLG Media for his support and offering a safe haven where I could kick back with some good friends, chill all day and clear my head…

Oceans of admiration to my world-class music mates – Dan, Hans, Troels, Al and Delmar Brown – for putting up with statements like “listen guys, I can’t really criticize what you’re doing now, but it just has to be better” …which sounds like a harsh thing to say, but it’s meant with love and respect, and comes from a burning desire to leave the comfort zone and go for it – on every song, every note, every night, every day. No turning back, we’re “In Too Deep”…
